In the fall of 2014 I was hired by Huckleberry Coast Childcare Society as research consultant.
With the goal of creating a childcare needs assessment for the Sunshine Coast, BC, I developed a survey guide, including an outreach/implementation strategy, oversaw the development and testing of the questionnaire, the data analysis and delivery of the final survey report.
The research was motivated by the desire to find out how the childcare needs of families are met on the Sunshine Coast. The results are being used to develop a local childcare model that meets families' actual needs, and to advocate with the local and provincial government for appropriate access to childcare
In the course of this project, more than 160 variables were obtained, analyzed and distilled into 10 pages of essential information.
